Stratford Concert Choir

The Stratford Concert Choir is an 85+ voice auditioned choir committed to the presentation of the best of the classical choral repertiore. Our director, Ian Sader, is a world-class musician who makes the study of challenging and interesting music a labour of love.

We are self-financed, thanks to the generous donations of our corporate and private sponsors, and the unfailing financial support of our choristers.

Welcome to our 30th Season!

We begin the season in a profound and moving way – a 10th Anniversary concert commemorating the tragic events of ‘9/11’.  This concert will take place at St. Joseph’s RC Church here in Stratford on Sunday afternoon September 11.  Admission to this concert is free.  The Stratford Concert Choir will be joined by singers from all over Ontario, in what promises to be a very moving performance of Fauré’s ‘Requiem’ – the work we performed to mark the 1st Anniversary of ‘9/11’.  Anthems and hymns reflecting the occasion will also be included, while several local officials have been invited to take part through the presentation of readings.  A wreath will be laid and a voluntary collection will be taken for the Canadian Japanese Relief Fund.  The ceremony begins at 3:00 pm and will conclude by 4:30 pm.

I do hope that you will come and take part in this great ‘civic’ event at the beginning of our season.  I also hope that you will enjoy the 5 wonderful concerts which we have planned for the 2011-12 season.

Joining us in this very exciting series of concerts is a wonderful roster of soloists.  Please see the individual concert listings for details of our guest musicians.

Again, welcome to this new season. I look forward to seeing you at our concerts.

Thank you for your support to this wonderful community choir last season.  If you are new to our concerts, welcome and thank you for your support.

Best wishes, Ian Sadler
